Challenge Catch-Up

I made time today to catch up on a few challenges. The SOS62 challenge over at Shopping Our Stash this week is "What was I thinking?" The product I bought a long time ago that prompts me to say "what was I thinking" is this designer paper! Yes, it's colorful, but the design is HUGE and so hard to use on cards. I thought pinwheels might be OK, so I made a fun card for a child with it and hopefully these bright, bold color squares will capture some youngster's attention in a good way :)
This card is for the SNSDC65 "Beary Special" challenge to use a bear image, and I combined that challenge with the SSS170 sketch. My digi image is Rhubarb's Cupcake from SNSS and this pretty dsp was given to me by a sweet  blogging friend. I added some stickles to the cupcake and colored the bear with Copics. I used a SNSS sentiment and added a couple lavender gemstones

This card is for the Simon Says Stamp challenge to use Kristina's inspiration photo...
The dsp is by Kaiser, and I used Poppy Parade and wild wasabi inks & a blending pen to color the HA flower and leaves. Sentiment is by MFP, and the pale blue button was from my stash. It's hard to see but I stamped a background on the white panel with blush blossom, and added 2 punched flowers with a mini brad in the center. This was also done for the Retro Sketch#22 which is closed. {DUH ... I did it again!}

And finally, this is for the Dynamic Duo DD14 to use the colors of Wasabi & Pumpkin, plus I used the sketch from the FreshlyMadeSketches#46. This was done with 2 SU! sets that were given to me, and I covered the fish in the jar halfway up with glossy accents, and stuck a few holes in it with a pin before it dried to resemble some bubbles. That detail might show if you click the photo to enlarge it. The sentiment was computer generated, and the little fish were done with a tiny punch.

I'm done posting cards for today, so thanks for hanging with me so long! I really did have some catching up to do, and I'm still not finished! :)
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Wow! You have been busy...I like the print on the first card...it may be bold but it really makes your card pop! the pinwheels are perfect with the paper. I like to make pinwheels too, I guess it reminds me of my childhood.
I like the cute bear on your next card, and great colors with the card...
well it looks like I am not the only one now that has made a card for a "closed" challenge. smile...I know how disappointing that can be.
I hope I can figure out something to do for the dynamic duo challenge. I actually have one of the stamping inks...(wild Wasabi) Actually it's my only SU ink. LOL. Sorry my comment is so long...You've done so many neat things today. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Canning those tomatoes really got you behind. I am sure you were itchin' to get in that craft room.

That will be a perfect child's card with the pinwheels. I have some of that 'too large' patterned paper, too. Seems we can always find a way to use it, though.

Rhubarb can eat that cupcake and I'll have one, too. Just happened to have one in the kitchen. :-)

Don't you hate when you make a card and miss the challenge? Ugh! Great card just the same and I love your fishy card..cute as can be.

Have a super day!

Carol, what a post to enjoy~ we all need more fun stops in blogland on hot days like today. Thanks.
Esp. giggled over the jar of fun - birthday fishes. With fire Stage 2 in place no fishing at fav spots reached over 'trails' having natural grasses dried from this intense dry heat to comply with the law of the land and avoid paying for total firefighting and mopup if the auto's exhaust system sparked a wildfire. Fish for dinner? Yes, sorry, no small mouthed bass until rains come to autumn green this region of earth. Cod and halibut will have to second the dietary effort. Card is classy and smile laden from memories colorfully showcased. Blessings! mt23stammper atyahoodotcom
Keep Looking UP!

Hey, Carol....lots of comments typed, none of it showed on screen after sent. This system snickered when you were to have a giggle like we did while enjoying your birthday fishes card so green, perky and fresh - totally refreshing aside from drought, crunchy tinder dry grasses and trees. Greens and orange did not say ST. P's day, they shouted fun, giggles, and freedom to grin while sharing a special moment with a friend. We need that constantly these intensely hot days. Well done. mt23stamperatyahoo greeting you, Carol.
Keep Looking UP!

What a great collection of cards here! The pinwheels are cute! The fishy punches are great, and what a clever idea to replicate water with bubbles in the jar! I like how you combined "bold" with "clean and simple" for the kitty inspiration card. But what brought me here was your Rhubarb card. I love the soft color scheme, and the bow is simply perfect. It's a super card for a girl! Thanks for joining in this week's Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge! :)
