Shopping our Stash and Some Encouragement

The theme for this week's Shopping Our Stash challenge #54 is to make a father's day or masculine card. This MFP Southwest Cowboy stamp set is one of my favorite go-to sets for creating masculine cards. The bird image is from a SNSS silhouettes stamp set. I sponged quite a number of inks to create the ground and sky after embossing the stamped image with clear detail ep. The "born free" sentiment seemed to work perfectly with this image so I just rolled with the flow. I added some faux stitching around the outside edge for a little more of a masculine feel.

This card was made for a special occasion you can read about here. Rather than my trying to explain it, you can click the link and read it yourself.
I used a Stampscape Lakeside Cabin image, coloring with Copics and cutting with a SB labels 25 die. The embossing on the ballet blue & bashful blue background was done with the SB So Trendy M-bossabilities folder. I left a sentiment off the front, and printed some SNSS scripture inside for a little encouragement for the recipient.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking time to comment :)

  1. Oh, these are wonderful! I love all the stamping you did on the Southwestern cowboy, and thinking to add the bird from another one was extra special.

And the cabin is perfect after what Sandy said about Dee. Which also made me realize that I should probably have a cabin stamp -- oh noes!, not another! -- especially for summer cards. The coloring is beautiful and I know she'll find it extra special!

Btw, your book and paper set is going out tomorrow. Sweetie, aka Mail Boy, has been swamped with physical therapy and doctor appts since the Memorial Day weekend. Sorry for the delay! xoxo

  2. Carol, two wonderful cards from you today. I love the colors you used for your background in your first card and you faux stitching finishes it off nicely. Your second card will definitely lift Dee's spirits when she sees it.
